Sneaker Cleanic is Gauteng’s leading sneaker care brand, trusted for expert cleaning, restoration, and repair of all styles of sneakers and shoes. We manufacture our own range of sneaker cleaning and after-care products to guarantee lasting freshness and premium results. What sets us apart is our commitment to efficiency and quality work, powered by ServPOS — our proprietary technology platform. From operations to customer service, our tech ensures every experience with Sneaker Cleanic is seamless, reliable, and built for the future.
It all started when our founder, Lesego Gumede, resigned from his sales job due to a disability (bilateral hearing loss). Three months later, Sneaker Cleanic was born — a vision built from resilience, passion, and the belief that sneakers could change lives.
Our Journey
May 5, 2021: Sneaker Cleanic started operating under a carport.
August 2021: Began testing our first sneaker cleaning product, Sneaker Solution.
Early 2022: After less than a year operating in a carport, we moved into Mabopane Square, our flagship store, employing 4 close friends who later grew into a team of 8.
Late 2022: Opened a second store under Kasi-Colab, an initiative by ExemplaReit that supports township entrepreneurs. After 18 months, we closed that space due to size limitations and opened a new store in Soshanguve Thorntree Plaza, employing 6 more people on opening day.
2023: Completed R&D on our sneaker cleaning products and received certification, strengthening our position as a product manufacturer.
2024: Developed ServPOS, our own robust technology platform designed to manage operations and customer service, ensuring efficiency and smooth business processes.

About The Founder
Lesego Gumede
Qualification – N.Dip Events Management.
Lesego Gumede spent four years at Tshwane University of
Technology: studying project management, accounting, marketing, communication, and planning. Lesego’s inability to get job experience prevented him from graduating because COVID-19 had it.
Lesego eventually obtained a learnership at identity (Truworths), whereby he :
• Completed a Learnership certificate in Wholesale & retail processes (NQF level 2)
• New Recruits, Sales Floor & Service Desk certificates
• Cross-trained with a minimum of 1 year’s experience on the floor and cash desk
After a while, Lesego quit to start Sneaker Cleanic under a carport. Under his leadership, the company developed its cleaning products and programmed a management system for retail services-based businesses.
